My Knitting Progress

So, you ask how my knitting is going. Okay, maybe you didn’t ask, but here is an update anyway.

For those of you who are coming into this late, I joined a knitting club. Here are the club basics. Each month I receive a pattern for three squares. The idea is to learn a new stitch with each square and slowly build your knitting skills. By the end (over 11 months), you have enough squares to make a full-size sampler afghan.

I received my first set of patterns a few weeks ago, and by this time, I should be almost finished with my first three squares.

Umm, I am not.

I am not a great knitter and finding the time to actually knit is difficult.

I am currently writing the next book in my series, reading the first book in Dean Koontz’s Frankenstein series, getting Vocation ready for an update, walking on my lunch break, and working full-time. When is there time to knit? Well, there is time to knit, at least an hour a day, but it has been pushed to the side.

So, I’m writing this blog to go public, to make myself accountable.

Here is my first square. It’s the simplest. I still have a few rows to go.

I need to get the push on because, if I fall behind now, I will be doomed. The squares will only get harder.

My friend, Noelle, gave me this nifty knitting bag as an early birthday present.

It is a motivator, too. I do need to get my knit together or I will fall terribly behind. I want to call myself a knitter, not a crocheter who can knit a little.
