Sometimes there are just no words. Yet we try to put pen to paper, curser to computer screen.
Today we mourn. Why?
I'm not sure.
Words can't describe the sorrow the world feels today.
Maybe we mourn because an icon of the French people, Christendom, Western Civilization, has been severely damaged--almost mortally--and we know deep down in our souls that we are all tied to our past and the people who came before us.
Or maybe it is more simple. We innately recognize that which is beautiful and mourn at the loss.
Today the grief is overshadowed in hope, that the Great Cathedral will be rebuilt, the main foundation preserved.
Let us remember this day, and let the promise of God to his people resound in our hearts.
Do not fear: I am with you;
do not be anxious: I am your God.
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. ~Isiah 41:10
